Lumberyard fire near Indianapolis

Smoke was reported from the roof of the Wooley Lumber facility in Mooresville this morning.

Per local reports, Mooresville fire chief Tim Medsker said there was something inside causing the smoke, and firefighters were using handlines inside and on the roof by the catwalk. Firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from a conveyor belt inside the facility.

Multiple agencies are on scene. Fire departments from Mooresville and Brown, Madison and Decatur townships, along with the Mooresville Police Department.

The fire was mostly controlled about 10:20 a.m.

Wooley Lumber has experienced fires previously. In 2006, one firefighter received minor injuries while battling the blaze when a ceiling collapsed
